It's Moneyball for raw fish and rice. Though I personally drew the line at about 150 pgs of Yellowtail debate, this story rambles on for the true die-hards. I can now make a bit of sense from my own ill-designed Tsukiji fish market jaunt in Tokyo, and you gotta love all the L.A. references -- the birthplace of American sushi and all things cool.
Check it out and get hungry: The Sushi Economy by Sasha Issenberg.
Just a great outdoor ad piece that speaks for itself...aint' nothing like a little spaghetti at sea:
YEP, the message is blaringly obvious, and NOPE, it's not told in the most innovative way ever, BUT I always do enjoy hearing my mantra rhapsodized as pseudo-fact. This bad boy comes from the Fast Company writers' secret mafia & at 20 bucks you get about 111 words per dollar -- holler!

Check it: The Purple Cow by Seth Golin.

Check it -- A WHOLE NEW MIND, Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, by Dan Pink.
I've been putting together a presentation for the CEO of Ideo -- the creative force behind Apple's first mouse, the Palm handheld, stand-up toothpaste tubes, insulin pens and just about every other meaningful product outside of Klondike bars and spinning rims.
This book is a bible for creative organizations and processes -- brainstorm! brainstorm! brainstorm! Prototype, Observe and Empathize! Just an inspiring look at work:

I also had a chance to play with Ideo's "method cards that help break the creative process into key categories and processes -- a nice, if a bit pricey, gift:
A brilliant & simple (the golden combo) site: www.futureme.org let's you compose an email to yourself for a pre-determined future delivery date....could be the day you turn 40 or just this July. A great tool to reflect back with but more importantly to set some goals & push yourself not only to pimp them, but also just to remember them. Check the LA Times article.
